[Release] mp_gold_rush

Nach erfolgreichen Beta Map-Test durch die Black Monkeys ist es nun soweit das ich meine erste und letzte Custom Map für Cod4 veröffentliche. Bei den Black Monkeys und allen anderen die an dem Map-Test beteiligt waren, möchte ich mich für ihre Hilfe bedanken.

Gold Rush für Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare

Map-Name: Gold Rush

Zeit: ca. 21 Monate

Beschreibung

Kleines Wüsten Dorf mit Unterirdische Bunkeranlage. Die Custom Map habe ich sehr offen gestaltet, so das man von jeder Richtung ins Dorf kommt. Fast alle Gebäude sind begehbar, in die Unterirdische Bunkeranlage kommt man über die Moschee, Brunnen und den Lüftungsschacht. Aus taktischen Gründen sind alle Mauern mit einem Graffiti und die hintere Wand der Moschee zerstörbar.

Und noch ein paar Sachen, die die Map interessanter macht:

Installations-Anleitung

Entpacke die Dateien mp_gold_rush.ff, mp_gold_rush_load.ff, mp_gold_rush.iwd in den Ordner
/Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare/usermaps/mp_gold_rush und die z_mp_gold_rush.iwd Datei kommt
in den mod ordner z.b. >> /Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare/mods/meinmod

WICHTIG:

Bitte die z_mp_gold_rush.iwd nur in einem individuell benannten Modordner benutzen.
Falls ein globaler Modordner verwendet wird, wird der Client gekickt wenn er einen Server ohne diese Datei aufsucht!
Custom Waffen können mit dieser DVAR deaktiviert werden: set weapon_mp_gold_rush "0"
Ohne aktivierte Waffen braucht man die zusätzliche IWD nicht im Modordner.

Coole Map bin auch schon bei 10 Monaten Bauzeit darf man eigentlich keinem erzählen aber mit viel Unterbrechungen leicht zu schaffen. Augenzwinkern

So schön das Cod4 Mappen ist und man Möglichkeiten hat, so viele Fehler können beim erstellen entstehen und man kann schnell an das Engine Limit stoßen. Und dadurch hatte ich zwischenzeitlich die Lust am cod4 Mappen verloren. Hätte ich alle Gebäude in einem 3d Programm erstellt hätte ich nicht solange Gebrauch. Und das erstellen neuer Animationen und die Waffen in das spiel einzufügen hat auch sehr viel zeit in Anspruch genommen.

Allerdings startet bzw. crashed sie unseren AWE4 Server, wenn ich die Map DVARS nutze.
Ohne die Einträge läuft sie einwandfrei.

Hast Du auch die zusätzliche IWD in den (hoffentlich individuell benannten) Modordner geschoben? Denn sonst findet der Mod die Weaponfiles nicht.
Mit AWE 4 hab ich getestet --> läuft.

Die *.iwd ist im Modordner und der heisst schon seit 2 Jahren 'awe4power'.
Trotzdem startet die Map nicht, bzw. crashed sie den Server sowie sie in der Rotation an die Reihe kommt.

Aber ohne die DVARS läuft sie, wie schon erwähnt einwandfrei.
Haben die Map gestern 2 mal gespielt. smile

Lass mich raten: Kein Eintrag im Logfile?

Ein Konflikt des Scripts mit dem AWE kann ich (fast) ausschliessen, da auf einem Windserver mit AWE 4 die Map läuft.
Ich verwende zwar einige Funktionen des AWE Weaponpools, aber wenn sich die Vars beissen würden, liefe die Map auf AWE + Win XP auch nicht.
Zudem gäbe es Fehler in der Konsole. Auf Linux mit PAM 4 läuft die Map auch problemlos.

Wenn Du putty offenhast, siehst Du dort die ganzen Meldungen bei Serverstart / Mapwechsel durchrasseln,
vergleichbar zu dem Konsolenfenster in Windows?
Ziemlich übel, wenn man im dunkeln tappt...

Da meine Linux Kenntnisse leider auch nicht die Besten sind, nutze ich kein Putty.
Unseren Server hat ein ehemaliger Member eingerichtet, ich verwalte, installiere und Pflege nur die Gameserver auf der Kiste und da mache ich alles mit WinSCP.

Die Map macht echt Laune, allerdings hab ich ein paar Kritikpunkte. Augenzwinkern

Bei DOM könnte die Map ruhig mehr als 3 Flaggen vertragen und die Spawns sind etwas unglücklich, vorallem die im Bunker.
*EDIT* Hab vergessen zu erwähnen, das die Flaggen A und B auch viel zu dicht zusammen sind. Augenzwinkern *EDIT END*

Für CTF ist die Map wie geschaffen, das macht unheimlich viel Spass. Freude

SAB und KOTH muss ich mir nochmal genauer anschauen, hab erst einmal kurz HQ gespielt bzw. haben wir uns da die Map angeschaut.
